Kelli Ruth, Principal
Kelli Ruth is the principal of Lumberton Elementary School, bringing 29 years of experience in education, including 21 years serving students and families in Lamar County. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, interventionist, lead teacher, and assistant principal. Mrs. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Reading Education from the University of Southern Mississippi, as well as a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi. Her extensive background and passion for student success guide her leadership at LES.

Tre Powell, Lead Teacher
Tre Powell is the Lead Teacher at Lumberton Elementary School, bringing more than seven years of experience in education. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including Special Education Teacher Assistant, Inclusion Teacher, Science Teacher, and Professional Learning Community (PLC) Leader. Mr. Powell holds a Master of Education in Secondary Education from William Carey University, as well as an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in K–12 Educational Administration from Mississippi College. His passion for building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff guides his leadership and reflects his belief that every child can succeed when they feel valued, supported, and connected. Inspired by Rita Pierson’s message that “Kids don’t learn from people they don’t like,” Mr. Powell strives to create a positive school culture where relationships are the foundation for student achievement.
